Respiratory Research Unit

We are a group of primary care researchers with an interest in pulmonary disease. Our research, which is both practical and relevant to the Government's National Services Framework, concentrates on an holistic approach to patient care. The research is intended to lead to changes in health care delivery which will benefit patients directly; by improving access to care and by targeting vulnerable patients whose needs are often unmet.

The Respiratory Research Unit works in close colloboration with Professor Michael Hyland and his team, Health Psychology at the University of Plymouth, who leads the Health and Psychology Research group.
